Road carnage can be attributed to many things , top of the list includes: reckless driving, lack of proper vehicle maintenance, and bad road conditions. Reckless driving behaviour involves common things like: texting while driving, talking on the phone while driving, sleepy while driving, drunk driving, and distracted driving.
As a driver if you’re a culprit of any of these bad driving behaviour, you have to put an end to it and use buzzers. Nsoroma GPS, a leading telematics organization has proposed effective ways to eliminate or reduce reckless driving, thus, minimize road accidents in Ghana.
According to the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Accra alone, since January has recorded a total of 7,687 crashes involving 13,248 vehicles where 1300 persons lost their lives. This staggering report should send fear to every driver ; all the lives and assets lost can never be replaced.
As a driver and a vehicle owner, you should first of all be concerned about your life and then the vehicle that carries you.
According to Harry Baksmaty, CEO of Nsoroma GPS, road carnage can be minimized to the barest with the introduction of buzzers and GPS tracking devices in vehicles.
He said that buzzers are Driver monitoring systems installed in vehicles that produce audible sound whenever the driver commits the following blunders: over speeding, harsh acceleration, driving close to pedestrians or a sidewalk and when the driver is distracted. The audible beep from the device also helps to keep the driver alert during long distance trips.
Mr. Baksmaty said in an interview, ” Over a 13 years period, Nsoromagps has assisted many people and organizations save their lives and assets via the use of GPS trackers and buzzers.
It is time for the NRSA, DVLA and Government to support technological ways of curbing road carnage that costs the nation irreversible loss of lives and property”.
Road accidents can happen to anyone at any time, therefore, the need to be preemptive and take precautionary measures such as installing a GPS tracking device and buzzer in vehicles as soon as possible.
Just as having an insurance cover for yourself and a vehicle which protects you after an incident, it’s important to have a buzzer cover to protect you before any incident.
